Admissions
Willow Tree Kindergarten provides Waldorf early years education based on the philosophy of Rudolph Steiner. We encourage you to read the Our Kindergarten page and carefully consider whether a Waldorf Steiner education is right for you and your child. We are a mainstream setting and follow the EYFS framework, although we have been granted certain exemptions as a Steiner setting.
We are open for all children including those with SEN and disabilities where we have appropriate facilities and resources available.

What We Offer
Willow Tree is a small setting with up to 16 children attending per day, we admit children from 2.5 years to 4 years old. Our setting is an oasis in the heart of the city, we hold regular open days where you and your child are able to visit. We are a term time only pre school setting and sadly are not able to provide wrap around or holiday care. The sessions we offer are Monday to Friday mornings which run 8.30am to 12.15pm or Monday to Thursday all day 8.30am to 4pm.
Admissions Process
We welcome applications for admission at any time, you can find our admission form below, however we do usually have our main intake in September and then able to offer places when they become available throughout the year.
Once your admission form has been received you will be added to our waiting list and we will contact you when there is a space available for your child to start after they have turned 2.5 years old.
You will be offered an education meeting with the setting manager or deputy manager which for September intake is usually in early spring. This is an opportunity for you and your child to find out more about our setting and Waldorf Steiner education, to spend time in the kindergarten with your child and to get to know you as a family.
We recommend that children start with us when they are developmentally ready, who are able to use the toilet or potty and no longer in nappies, have basic self care and can separate from parents/ caregivers.
Unfortunately, our setting currently does not have appropriate facilities for changing and disposal of nappies.
Funding & Fees
Willow Tree Kindergarten offers both 15 and 30 funded hours, however we do ask that children attend for a minimum of 15 hours per week as we find children settle much better.

Once you have accepted a place we ask for a £50 admin fee, if you decide not to take up a place prior to your child starting the fee will not be returned. Please see our admissions policy and fees page for more information.
